Make room for the place
Terracotta warriors. Stories inside the walls.
When to go
Spring and autumn are sensible starting points, with holiday dates checked first. Plan outdoor wall walks for cooler hours in summer and pack warm layers in winter.

Look near the Bell Tower or South Gate with a convenient metro connection. Ask about street noise if your room faces a busy evening area.
Getting there & getting around
Xi’an North railway station and Xi’an Xianyang airport are outside the historic center. Check the station name carefully and arrange the museum transfer separately from your arrival transfer.
What to book ahead
Use the Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum’s official information to find the correct attraction and current ticketing arrangements. Check the reservation date and ID requirements; do not assume a nearby themed attraction is the archaeological museum.
A taste of the place
Explore noodle shops and try roujiamo with a filling that suits your diet. The Muslim Quarter is a living neighborhood: respect prayer spaces and ask before photographing people.

Your days in Xi’an
An original suggested itinerary. Reorder days around reservations, weather and your arrival time.
Day 1 · Inside the city walls
After arriving, settle in and explore the Bell Tower area. Walk a section of the city wall when conditions suit you, then leave the evening for dinner.
Day 2 · The Terracotta Army
Reserve the museum and plan the return transfer. Give the galleries time rather than combining several distant stops. Keep the evening free for a relaxed meal.
Day 3 · One more layer of history
Choose the Big Wild Goose Pagoda area or a museum with an available reservation. Use the remaining time for a neighborhood walk before your onward journey.
