Privacy
Your small moments stay yours.
A practical explanation of what this edition stores, and what it doesn’t send.
Dates and searches stay in the page.
Birthday inputs, calendar selections and name search text are processed by your browser. They are not submitted to a server, added to URLs or saved automatically. Leaving or reloading the page clears those inputs.
Pinyin input and the writing area also stay in your browser. They are not sent to an input service, saved in local storage or included in interaction events. Copy your text before leaving the page.
Chinese-to-pinyin source text, results and pronunciation corrections also stay in the page. They are not uploaded, stored or included in interaction events.
Saved names live on your device.
When you save a name, the site stores its public example ID in browser local storage, under chinese-moments:saved-names:v1. It does not save a personal name you entered. You can unsave individual names or choose “Clear saved”. There is no cross-device syncing.
If browser storage is blocked, saved names work only for the current page session. The name page displays that limitation.
Offline files
The web edition uses a service worker to cache this site’s pages, fonts, images, scripts and audio. It does not cache personal result pages, because none are created. Browser site-data settings let you remove those cached files. The downloaded edition uses the files in the folder you unzip.
No remote analytics in this edition.
There are no tracking cookies, advertising tags, analytics network requests or user accounts. The application emits short-lived local interaction events for testing and future integration. Allowed parameters include a tool name, action type, public content ID or selected festival year; they exclude complete birthdays and search text.
Those events are neither stored nor transmitted by this edition. If an analytics service is added later, this page must be updated before it is enabled. No return-visit tracking is currently implemented.
Audio and external links
Audio plays from included files. The site does not request microphone access. Following a source link takes you to a separate website with its own data practices.
Hosting and clipboard
The online edition is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes ordinary web request information such as IP addresses and user agents to serve the site. The offline download makes no application network requests. The Copy action uses the clipboard only when you request it; if access is unavailable, selectable text is provided instead.
