Planning for 2027?

Keep your dates flexible.

As of October 9, 2026, a 2027 State Council holiday schedule has not been verified for this guide. We will not infer days off or make-up workdays from festival dates.

Chinese New Year falls on February 6, 2027, but that does not establish the length or dates of the public holiday.

Flights & hotels

Compare the whole trip.

  • Check fares a few days either side of your preferred dates. Peak departures and returns may cost more, but no fixed holiday surcharge applies to every route.
  • Compare the total with baggage, airport transfers and cancellation terms. A cheaper flight can mean another hotel night.
  • Check international flights and domestic connections separately. A quieter international fare does not mean the train or hotel will be available.
  • If dates are fixed, reserve key transport and rooms early, then set reminders for attraction ticket releases. Early booking does not guarantee the lowest fare.

Crowds & seasons

Look beyond the red dates.

  • Spring Festival travel begins before the official break and continues after it. Some family-run businesses close while transport stays busy.
  • July and August school holidays, local festivals, weekends and major exhibitions can also bring crowds.
  • Spring and autumn are starting points for planning, not a nationwide weather promise. Mountain visibility, heat, rain and river conditions need local checks.
  • Make-up working weekends are normal workdays for many people. They do not guarantee empty attractions, and opening hours still need checking.

Holiday demand context: 2026 autumn tourism campaign. Price tips are general planning advice; this site does not retrieve live airfares or hotel rates.
